  • I was a Lead Deckhand and a rescue swimmer(certified)
  • We were also trained for keeping watch at the bridge, rotating between helmsman(no auto pilot) and navigator/lookout (traditional nautical cartography)
  • My duties as a lead deck hand included various tasks like giving out orders to other deckhands (always worked with them), dockings, all kinds of maintenance, painting, ice and snow removal from deck, using and maintaining weapons and weapon positions, inspecting lines and replacing them, cleaning the boat, night watch, helped out with optical navigation, gave signals with light, sound, radio and gestures, For a month I was responsible for morning workouts

  • Did a lot of smaller races
  • With a great team effort we won second place on The Moonsund Regatta 2020 ORC3, 7 days of competitive sailing. Boats from Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Sweden and Russia
  • Ran a commercial sailing class and day trip business for the owner. Did it alone - planning, marketing, supplies, customer support, sailing, docking (I was the only person on board who knew anything about sailing)
  • 3000nm per season x4 seasons.

  • Navigated from Taranto, along the coast to Sicily Siracusa, The Isole Eolie, to Napoli, visiting all hotspots and islands along the way.
